“All Aboard the Iron Horse”
August 21, 2021
Tygart Lake State Park’s Nature Center presents an evening performance of “All Aboard the Iron Horse” on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. This one-man show features the wit and versatility of West Virginia’s Bard of Education, Mick Souter, as he returns to Tygart Lake! Mick Souter’s Touring Musical Theater takes the audience aboard this musical train excursion, from the early days of steam and smoke to the streamlined diesel engines of today. Come enjoy the show as he blends historically-accurate theatrical anecdotes with exciting performances on instruments like the banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dulcimer, autoharp, guitar, and harmonica! The show includes songs by Jimmy Rodgers, Woody Guthrie, and more, and makes stops along the way to meet the likes of John Henry, Collis Huntington, Casey Jones, and more! “All Aboard the Iron Horse” is free and open to the public. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be on the Nature Center lawn at Tygart Lake State Park, so bring a chair or blanket! “All Aboard the Iron Horse” is family-friendly entertainment for rail buffs of all ages.
