Ultimate Adventurer & Junior Adventurer Challenges
Awe-inspiring views. Fresh mountain air. Outdoor adventures. There are so many reasons to love West Virginia’s state parks and forests. From experiencing the excitement of reeling in a fish from a mountain stream for the first time to hiking up to a scenic overlook and taking in a view you’ve never seen before; in Almost Heaven these experiences are waiting around every corner.
To celebrate these one-of-a-kind moments, we’ve created the West Virginia State Parks Ultimate Adventurer Challenge and the West Virginia State Parks Junior Adventurer Challenge. These challenges were created with both expert and beginner adventurers in mind. Along the way, these challenges will lead you to new destinations and adventures within the West Virginia State Parks system.

ULTIMATE ADVENTURER CHALLENGE
HOW IT WORKS:
Adventure awaits. Request a challenge card below and we’ll send you an Ultimate Adventurer Challenge card to keep track of your adventures across Almost Heaven. Once you complete each challenge make sure to get your challenge card stamped at any park office or gift shop.
Don’t forget: You’ll need to post a photo on your Twitter or Instagram account after each challenge using #AlmostHeaven and #WVstateparks. We can’t wait to see photos from your state park explorations!
When you’ve completed the West Virginia State Parks Ultimate Adventurer Challenge and your card is complete with each stamp, turn in your challenge card at one of the following West Virginia State Parks gift shops and you’ll receive an exclusive West Virginia State Parks gift pack:
Blackwater Falls State Park, Chief Logan State Park, Hawks Nest State Park, Pipestem Resort State Park, Twin Falls Resort State Park and Tygart Lake State Park.
Once you complete the Ultimate Adventurer Challenge fill out an entry form at one of the six state park gift shops mentioned above and you’ll be entered to win a free year of state park lodging. Only one lucky winner will win!

*Free year of West Virginia State Parks lodging is
limited to midweek lodge room reservations only.
Reservations must be made by calling each park
lodge directly. Offer not valid on Stonewall and
Canaan Valley Resort State Parks lodge rooms. Each
reservation is limited to seven days per location and is
based on availability and is non-transferrable. Winner
of the free year of West Virginia State Parks lodging
must occupy the room. Free year of West Virginia
State Parks lodging is valid from November 1, 2021 –
November 1, 2022
JUNIOR ADVENTURER CHALLENGE
HOW IT WORKS:
Parents, request a challenge card below and we’ll send your kiddo a Junior Adventurer Challenge card. Once your child has completed each challenge initial their challenge card, so they know each challenge has been completed.
When your kiddo has finished the West Virginia State Parks Junior Adventurer Challenge and their card is complete, turn in their challenge card at one of the following West Virginia State Parks gift shops and your child will receive an exclusive West Virginia State Parks Junior Adventurer Challenge medal and certificate:
Blackwater Falls State Park, Chief Logan State Park, Hawks Nest State Park, Pipestem Resort State Park, Twin Falls Resort State Park and Tygart Lake State Park.
