Blackwater Falls Sled Run Opening on December 21

Tickets sell out quickly, purchase ahead of time!

SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV — The longest sled run on the East Coast, located at Blackwater Falls State Park, opens for the winter season on December 21. Visitors are encouraged to secure tickets in advance at wvstateparks.com/blackwater-falls-sled-run.

“The sled run remains a cherished attraction among West Virginia’s state parks, and we’re thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all for yet another season of exhilarating winter activities and family bonding,” said Brad Reed, Chief of West Virginia State Parks. 

To redeem an online purchase, print the email confirmation or save it to your smart phone and present it upon arrival to the sled run to receive a ticket. Same day tickets may not be purchased online or by phone, and a limited number of tickets are available each day at the park.

Save the Dates:

  • Opening Day: December 21, 2023
  • Season: December 21, 2023, to March 5, 2024
  • Days of Operation: Thursdays through Sundays
  • Extended Hours: Holiday weeks and special dates

Ticket Details:

  • Weekdays: $28
  • Weekends & Holidays: $33
  • Sessions: 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. (7 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday Sundays)
