Rockin’ on the Trail – Blackwater Falls State Park
June 21 @ 10:00 am
What are those squiggly lines in the rocks at the overlook? Are there any fossils found in the rocks around the park? How was the canyon formed? Although no rocks may be gathered in any state park, you can find out the answers to some of these questions or bring your own questions as the West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey staff leads this geologic walk to take a closer look at the clues the rocks tell us.
Expect to walk less than 1/2 mile. 60-90 minutes depending on the enthusiasm of visitors to explore the area. A geology rocks patch is available to those in attendance at the end of the walk. The start time is 10 a.m. at Pendleton Point Overlook.
