National Trails Day – Blackwater Falls State Park

June 7 @ 10:00 am

Come Hike with us! Join a naturalist in Blackwater Falls Lodge Lobby for this interpretive hike along a section of three park trails. The forest is a mix of conifers and northern hardwoods. Expect to experience plants and perhaps wildlife that characterize a mountain habitat such as mountain holly, mountain ash, serviceberry and more. The hike is less than 2 miles along a natural rock and root strewn trail with little change in elevation, and participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, pack water and be prepared for wet or muddy areas.

Leashed and well behaved dogs are welcome to hike with their owner following B.A.R.K. rules. This hike qualifies for the Junior Naturalist patch program, though all ages are welcome to hike with the naturalist. Expect the hike to last around 70-90 minutes. This hike is Blackwater’s National Trails Day Event.

Public restrooms available inside Blackwater Falls Lodge.
