Full Buck Moon Hike: Cass
July 9 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Hike by the light of a full moon at Cass on July 9, 2022.
The “Buck Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitors center (to the left of the Company Store facing the store) at 7:30 p.m. The evening walk is about three miles round trip with a slight grade, but mostly flat walking. Please wear sturdy footwear and seasonal clothing for evening hiking. Hike will be led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley. The hike is open to the public and fee free.
July’s full moon name is known as the Buck Moon according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac because the ungulate antlers shed in the winter are growing back fast when the Buck Moon rises. Look for the deer roaming the forest in summer months.
