Augusta County Militia: Prickett’s Fort
October 7, 2023 – October 8, 2023
Join us at Prickett’s Fort State Park as the Augusta County Militia explores the life and times of early Appalachian pioneer Joseph Doddridge. They will demonstrate several crafts based on Doddridge’s writings as well as conducting militia operations. A militia muster, inspection, and the dispatching of scouts and spies will be discussed and demonstrated throughout the weekend. This event is on Saturday and Sunday, October 7-8, 2023.

Historic attractions at Prickett’s Fort are open April 24 to October 29, 2023. Days and hours of operation are Monday – Saturday 10:00AM – 4:00PM and Sunday from noon until 4:00PM and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays after Labor Day.
