When visiting Pipestem Resort, Jan. 20-23, 2022, you’ll learn the story of the park, its wildlife and winter birds when you participate in these interpretative activities. There is no fee to attend. The general public and park guests are welcomed.

Wildlife of North America
Meet naturalist Julie McQuade at the nature center for a quiz game about North America wildlife. While you visit ask about wildlife you can see at Pipestem, what the tracks look like in the mud or snow.

Mammals of Pipestem
There are seven mammals you may encounter when visiting the park. Naturalist Julie can help you identify, maybe have a pelt to touch or some cool skulls so show you and suggest the best time to see wildlife at Pipestem.

The birds of Pipestem visit the feeders at the Nature Center. We count the highest number of species and report that date to the Project Feeder/Watch for Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Join us.

There’s a wintry list of objects to seek on this “outside in nature” hunt. Like other activities, meet at the nature center for this afternoon activity.

Heritage Structures of Pipestem
Pipestem’s history is rich in culture and community. Learn about the wooden structures at the nature center area, the families that resided at Pipestem back in the day, and ask questions about moonshine still remnants that you can still spy at the park when the seasons allow.
The nature center is open Thursday – Sunday from noon until 5:00PM. There is no charge to visit.
