March parades in spring, the outdoors is suggesting a visit to Cacapon State Park. Cacapon’s naturalist and activity planners invite you to participate in these things-to-do March 3 – 6 2023.

Exploring Your Senses: Seeing & Hearing
This program is for the younger kids K-2, but can still be fun for any age. Build your own paper binoculars to explore your sense of sight on a scavenger hunt.

Next, let’s explore the sounds we hear while outdoors and draw what they are! Super fun morning at Cacapon. Join us.

Mammals of the Month
Come and find out what the three featured mammals are in the month of March! Learn about their tracks, traits, and fun facts. Make-and- take a plaster cast foot print and enjoy some informational coloring sheets.

Spring gobbler season is upon us.

The Cacapon State Park Foundation shares park activities and hikes planned at Cacapon. Follow the foundation Facebook page. Cacaponresortstateparkfoundation.

When you visit Cacapon visit the Tom Ambrose Nature Center! The nature center is a great stop for all ages, showcasing exhibits on the park history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41. Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy
collection of wildlife- fish, birds, fox, bobcat, mountain lion, deer, elk, and eastern grey wolf!

Also, hands-on sand displays for wildlife tracks and a new geology interactive map to design your own mountains, rivers and lakes. Take a park naturalist guided hike or join the daily activities! All programs start at the nature center unless noted.
