Since 2006 Twin Falls State Park has hosted Guitar Workshop Weekend. This year the dates are March 17 – 19, 2023. It is a guitar playing workshop not to be missed.

The weekend brings like-minded people together to improve guitar skills and music knowledge in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The instructors help players learn, absorb, practice and demonstrate new skills in a supportive and relaxed environment.

The instructors are well known in West Virginia and beyond.

ROBIN KESSINGER

Robin’s place in the ranks of the world’s guitar players is well established, as a winner
of the National Flat-picking championships in dozens of festivals around the country.

ROBERT SHAFER
Fiddle Tunes, Swing and Electric.
Robert is a two time winner of the National Flat picking championship, and has held numerous state guitar championships around the country.

JIM RITCHEY
Acoustic Basics and Blues Basics.
Jim is an experienced guitar teacher who excels at helping beginners and less experienced players. Jim is a published songwriter and was a touring musician for 20 years.

The weekend includes an instructors concert, Friday night jams. Various jams of folk, country, swing, or blues with instructors and attendees. Saturday morning and afternoon workshops, Saturday evening attendee jam/concert and a Sunday morning wrap up. The overnight workshop package is $179.30 for one person with all workshop activities and sessions. The overnight workshop package for two people staying two nights with all workshop activities and sessions is $280.20. The package includes Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast and accommodations at Twin Falls Lodge and applicable taxes and gratuity included.
