Updated Lodge Makes You Feel At Home
Over the course of the last few years, the state parks system has made more than $5 million in improvements to the Hawks Nest lodge and more than $2 million in improvements to the Hawks Nest museum. These updates make overnight stays and visits to Hawks Nest feel even more like coming home.
“The renovations to the Hawks Nest Lodge and Museum are great and we know that whether you’re visiting for the first time or have stayed with us before, there will be something for everyone to enjoy,” said West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Director Brett McMillion. “Lasting memories truly are made at West Virginia State Parks.”
Renovated Lodge Rooms Help You Relax and Rewind
There have been many lodge room improvements at Hawks Nest. All new furnishings add to the lodge’s cozy vibe. All 31 lodge rooms have been renovated, and the lobby, as well as the front desk area, have been upgraded to match the new, cozy feel of the lodge.
Improved Landscaping Helps You See Hawks Nest’s Natural Beauty
Another exciting upgrade at Hawks Nest is improved landscaping throughout the park. The outdoor improvements add to the natural beauty of the park. Be sure to take a photo next to some beautiful flowers on your trek out to the trails or the pool!
New Outdoor Pool and Splash Pad Provides Families a Place to Cool Off
Speaking of pool, there is an all new guest pool and splash pad for overnight guests to enjoy! This addition is great for the summer months, and will give families staying at Hawks Nest Lodge something to do on a hot day.
“I think something families and kids will really enjoy is the outdoor pool and splashpad,” said Hawks Nest superintendent, Joe Baughman. “We look forward to welcoming many new guests as well as those who have visited us before. Everyone is bound to have a great time and we are excited to share our renovations!”
Expanded ADA Accessibility Helps Everyone Enjoy Hawks Nest
In addition to the lodge room renovations, the landscaping upgrades and the new pool and splash pad, Hawks nest has many ADA accessibility improvements.
