Birds and Blooms Walk
Join the park naturalist, Paulita, for a stroll along park trails listening and looking for feathered friends while
searching for blooming wildflowers. About 1 hour, 1 mile. YPP

11:00 a.m.
Mason Jar Craft
Join seasonal park naturalist Kenny, to create a glimmering mason jar using decals on a gold flecked or silver flecked jar. Craft fee: $5.00

12:00 p.m.
Map & Compass
Join the park naturalist for an introduction to topography maps and basic compass skills. Includes a 30 minute video, review and hands on fun. About 1
hour, some walking. YPP

1:30 p.m.
Crafting a Campfire
Join the seasonal park naturalist to hear different fire lays and try your hand at creating flame with flint and steel. About 1 hour. YPP

3:00 p.m.
Meet our Turtles & Craft
Join the staff to meet the turtles that live in Harold Walters Nature Center. Hear their story and a little about other turtles found in West Virginia. Includes the
creation of a paper turtle to take home. About 1 hour. YPP

Strolling into History
Kenny invites you to the trailhead of Gentle Trail to stroll along this paved path to an overlook of Blackwater Falls. Along the way learn some
local history and how Blackwater Falls became a state park. About 30 minutes. 1/4 mile. YPP All ages welcome.

Tie dye an orb craft
Use colorful paints to create a colorful glass orb. Craft fee: $3.00

3:00 p.m.
Herb Greenhouse Craft
Listen to the seasonal naturalist talk about herbs while creating your own herb garden for your house. Enjoy the presentation for free.
