Three Rivers Avian Center Public Tour & Moonstruck Maple

If you’re visiting Bluestone State Park and enjoying the natural beauty of the Hinton and Brooks, W.Va. area, Three Rivers Avian Center is open today only, Saturday, July 2, 2022, for free public tours. Public tours are only offered from 1:00-5:00 p.m. the first Saturday of May, June, July, August, September and October in 2022.
If you make the trip, you’ll visit with live raptor ambassadors featuring hawks, owls, falcons, vulture and bald eagle, and enjoy interactive educational displays, tour the facility and visit with friends from Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory. The last tour of the day starts at 4:30 p.m.
Today when visiting TRAC, visit Moonstruck Maple, a gourmet maple syrup and confectioner just across the road from TRAC on the mountain. See how maple syrup is made, learn about tree tapping, and enjoy free tastings of delicious mapleness. Moonstruck Maple syrup won 1st place at the 2021 State Fair of West Virginia.
TRAC is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving West Virginia’s wild birds and to educating and involving the public in ecosystem stewardship. Donations are welcome. This is TRACs 32nd year of caring for wild birds in the Mountain State of West Virginia.

TRAC is a 30-40 minute drive and is about 15 miles away from the Bluestone State Park office. It’s a gravel road up Brooks Mountain, but the opportunity to visit TRAC is worth your drive time and your tour time on the mountain.
Please note TRAC cannot take cabin or camping reservations at Bluestone State Park and Bluestone State Park cannot answer questions for TRAC.
