Tracking and Woods Lore Weekend
Presented by Trails, Inc., this outdoor and discovery weekend takes a step back in time to the 18th century, when American Indians and European Americans lived closer to nature. Learn some skills that were necessary for everyday life and learn of the cultural sharing that has made our modern lives richer. Enjoy nature, drama, tracking, and history in outdoor and indoor settings.
For participants enrolled in the Master Naturalist (MN) Program, this weekend may count toward class hours in: (1)
TRACKING 4 hrs., (2) MEDICINAL, EDIBLE, & USEFUL PLANTS 3 hrs, and (3) HERPETOLOGY 4 hrs.
Contact Tammy.D.Cooper@wv.gov at Twin Falls Resort State Park to learn more about this indoor/outdoor experience and exploration of 18th century lifestyle in a 21st century state park setting. Conversation about what to bring and wear for the outdoor classroom, as well as indoor activities helps the first time participant to come better prepared for this adventure in tracking and woods lore. The event is fee based and overnight accommodations are available.
