First Day Hike at North Bend
Take your first step into the New Year with a hike at North Bend State Park on January 1. It’s a First Day Hike at North Bend and promises to be a great morning outdoors.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. from the Nature Center, hikers will go out the Access Trail to the Rail Trail and take advantage of learning some history and train stuff along the way with naturalist and interpreter Ken Zebo. Depending upon the group interest, the turn around may be at Tunnel 13 or could continue to Tunnel 12.
Wear appropriate outerwear and sturdy footwear for winter hiking. IF the hike turns around at Tunnel 13 it will be 1.6 miles, if hike extends to Tunnel 12 it will be 2.6 miles. Hikers receive a First Day Patch at conclusion of the hike.
