Weekend Nature Activities: Coopers Rock

July is moving fast and activities scheduled at Coopers Rock State Forest are focused on outdoor diversity. Join Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide Aubrey Bartman for these nature-based activities planned on July 15 – 17, 2022.. Participation in any or all hikes and activities is without cost, however children must be accompanied by an adult.

TREE IDENTIFICATION HIKE
Meet at the reservoir Parking Area across from McCollum Campground to explore the tree species found at Coopers Rock State Forest. Everyone appreciates trees and even more when you can identify some.

AWESOME POSSUM
Meet at McCollum Campground to learn about the amazing Opossum! This critter has so many good things going for it in spite of the not so pretty face. Join us!

LIFE AROUND THE RESERVOIR
Meet at the Reservoir Parking Area across from McCollum Campground to see what lives in and around the water reservoir.
When visiting Coopers Rock State Forest and the Bruceton Mills and Morgantown area, take time to visit the Museum of Geology & Natural History. It is located at 1 Mont Chateau Road, Morgantown. Open from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Admission is free and there are dinosaur bones and if you like geology – this is a great place to be sure to visit.
