If you are spending anytime on the Hatfield-McCoy Trails, staying at the nearby Chief Logan State Park is part of the experience. Just ask the thousands of ATV enthusiasts who visit the park each year, making it one of the most visited in West Virginia. And you can’t ask for a better starting point for exploring the more than 700 miles of off-road trails winding through the hills and hollows of southern West Virginia. In fact, the Bearwallow Trailhead is right outside the Chief Logan State Park entrance.

Explore even more trails in the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System near Twin Falls Resort State Park. Pinnacle Creek Trailhead is only 15 miles from Twin Falls and most known for its breathtaking scenic views and proximity to world class whitewater. This is popular for folks wanting to take a nice leisure ride through walls of rhododendron. At Watoga, you can hike more than 40 miles of trails. Cast a line in Watoga Lake or reel in trout from the nearby Greenbrier River. Take unique photos as you walk through ancient rock formations at Beartown. And take in the views from the observation tower at Droop Mountain. Everything is within a short drive of each other, so you can enjoy them all in a single day trip. Or you can spend the night in one of Watoga’s cabins and spend a day at each park.
