Tomlinson Run State Park Trails
With six trails scattered across beautiful scenery, you can experience all Tomlinson Run State Park offers at your own pace. Walking times range from 20 to 70 minutes. So whether you’re looking for a quick breeze through the lush woodlands or a challenging journey with prospering wildlife, Tomlinson Run awaits you. Gear up and grab a park map before you head out.
Easy
Beech Trail
The trail starts across Country Road from the Old Mill Site entrance. You will follow the ridge above the road to a breathtaking valley view. Then down to Tomlinson Run Stream and back to Country Road, across the bridge to the starting point.
Fern Trail
The starting point is at the entrance to the picnic area. Follows a small stream to the head, then makes a sharp right. Follow the trail to the boat dock parking lot, then take the road back to the starting point.
Poe Trail
The starting point is the lower end of Laurel Trail. Follow the old road to White Oaks Flats. Return the same way. The trail leads into the heart of the Wilderness Area. To get to White Oak Trail, one has to walk half of Laurel Trail.
Moderate
Big Foot Trail
The starting point is 300 feet up the road from the picnic area gate and ends at Shepherds road. The trail follows the shore to the north fork of the lake. Return the same way or take the road back to the starting point.
Laurel Trail
The starting point is the Old Mill Site. Follows Tomlinson Run Stream into the Wilderness Area and circles back within 200 feet of the starting point.
Maple Trail
The starting point is the restroom facility at Shepherd Valley switchback. The trail then continues over the hill and down to Washington School Road. Take the main park road back to the starting point.
