Pinnacle Rock State Park includes a wooded area with picnic facilities, hiking trails and a fishing lake. An overlook from atop Pinnacle Rock is a popular destination and favorite photo spot for park visitors. The park offers more than six miles of hiking trails, along with opportunities for fishing and geocaching. It also contains a unique children’s playground. 

    Camping

    Pinnacle Rock is a day-use park, but you’re never far from a campground in West Virginia.

    Fishing

    The nearby Jimmy Lewis Lake is seasonally stocked with trout for anglers to cast their line and reel in cherished memories on the water. Proper fishing licenses and stamps are required and may be purchased online.

    Geocaching

    Hunt for buried treasure with a modern twist through geocaching! There are two cache sites hidden in Pinnacle Rock. Go on the prowl before someone else reaches the treasure. Be sure to bring a smartphone with a GPS and some items of your own for the next explorer to find.

    Hiking

    Ready for a great trip in the outdoors? Pinnacle Rock State Park has more than six miles of hiking trails and an overlook area from atop Pinnacle Rock for every visitor to get the best scenic experience possible. The trails are also open for biking and suitable for every level.

    Horseback Riding

    There are no horseback riding accommodations within Pinnacle Rock State Park, but there is always opportunity to saddle up and see the mountains. Local outfitters have trail rides throughout the region to be explored by you and your trusty steed.

    Museums and Historical Sites

    The historic town of Bramwell is a Victorian delight. At one time, more millionaires lived here than anywhere else in America. Numerous coal baron mansions still exist today. During Christmas and spring, several of them are open for tours. Another delight is The Corner Shop, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor with an operational soda fountain.

    Outdoor Adventures

    Pinnacle Rock State Park offers more than six miles of trails open to bikers and hikers for an unforgettable journey with beautiful scenery. Next to the trails, the park also offers picnic areas and a unique children’s playground for the little ones to enjoy.
