Cacapon Resort State Park celebrates National Trails Day on June 4, 2022 with multiple guided hikes. Led by Park Naturalist Valerie Chaney and park volunteers, hikes will start from the Nature Center at 10:00 a.m. Hikes are designed from an easy walk/hike and shorter distance and a longer more strenuous adventure. Hikes are open to the public and without charge. Suitable for all ages. Wearing comfortable close toed walking or hiking shoes is recommended. Hikers receive a Trails Day patch at the conclusion of the activity.
Since 1993, National Trails Day has been held annually, the first Saturday of each June, to bring attention to our state’s and nation’s hiking trails.
