Mid-week August Farewell: Cacapon

September Approaches. Cacapon Resort State Park features nature-based programs from birding to butterflies and geology to Irish Roadbowling. All activities and programs are free to attend and open to the public. Join Naturalist Valerie Chaney and summer team Garrett, Allen and Mary and park volunteers at the nature center (unless another location is indicated), August 29 – September 1, 2022.

Join park naturalists for a stroll in nature to inspire a drawing, poem or

Visit the Tom Ambrose Nature Center! at Cacapon State Park. The nature center is a great stop for all ages, showcasing exhibits on the park’s history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41. Nature Center is open from 9:00 AM until 4:45 PM.
Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy collection of wildlife- fish, birds, fox, bobcat, mountain lion, deer, elk, and eastern grey wolf! Also, hands-on sand displays for wildlife tracks and a new geology interactive map to design your own mountains, rivers and lakes. Take a park naturalist guided hike or join the daily activities! The Nature Center is open daily from 9AM-5PM.
