Wings of Wonder, Birds of Prey: Blennerhassett Island
August 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Live birds of prey on Blennerhassett Island are presented by the Three Rivers Avian Center (TRACWV.org) on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The educational birds are a great opportunity to learn what birds say “who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?” as well as meeting other raptors.
The afternoon program is all about raptors native to West Virginia: hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls. You’ll learn about the habitat, diet and behavior of each bird presented, the most common causes of injury to each species and the laws protecting these special birds. There is no fee to attend. Open to the public, the program lasts about an hour and is staged at the Rotary Shelter on Blennerhassett Island. Questions are welcomed. This is a family friendly event. Join Three Rivers Avian from Brooks, WV and the Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park staff for this afternoon with the raptors.
Lodging is available at North Bend State Park.
