Cacapon Resort State Park
This Eastern Panhandle retreat features a lodge with a full-service restaurant and cozy guest cabins. Hike more than 23 miles of trails and take in the scenic views of Cacapon Mountain or enjoy some Valentine-themed activities at the park.
Chief Logan State Park
Chief Logan is the place to be if you and your honey are into four-wheeling adventures. The park is only a short drive from the Bearwallow trailhead — part of the 600-mile Hatfield McCoy Trail system that winds through the mountains of southern West Virginia. Chief Logan also offers more than 30 miles of hiking trails.
Make plans to attend the park’s Valentine Party on Feb. 9. Overnight accommodations include a modern lodge with full-service restaurant, indoor swimming pool, fitness room and hot tub.

Twin Falls Resort State Park
The two waterfalls that Twin Falls Resort is named after are best viewed in winter or spring when snow runoff increases the water flow. So, Valentine’s is a perfect time for a stroll along the mile-long Falls Trail loop. Known for the restored pioneer homestead that serves as the park’s crown jewel, Twin Falls features a lodge with a full-service restaurant, indoor swimming pool, hot tub and fitness center.
Visit the park on Feb. 16 and enjoy a Valentines weekend dance with appetizers and refreshments. Overnight and weekend packages are available.

The premier winter resort, Canaan Valley is known for winter sports like skiing, tubing and snowshoeing. Overnight accommodations include guest cabins and a modern lodge with a full-service restaurant, full-service spa, indoor swimming pool, hot tub and fitness room. The park also offers ice skating on an outdoor covered rink during the winter months. Up your romantic game with a short drive over to Blackwater Falls State Park, where the 57-foot falls are especially magnificent when covered in ice and snow. Canaan Valley’s Sweetheart Skate Date on Feb. 14 includes complimentary hot chocolate a couples photo with regular admission.
