Reaching This Lodge Requires a Ride Through the Sky 🚡

Escape to West Virginia for a scenic and secluded stay at Mountain Creek Lodge, a getaway that can only be reached with a breathtaking ride on the new reimagined Pipestem Tram. Opened just last week, the brand new, state-of-the-art aerial tram at Pipestem Resort State Park travels nearly 3,500 feet from the canyon rim down into the scenic Bluestone River Gorge, giving way to jaw-dropping views and the only state park lodge in the country that can only be reached via tram.

Designed using the world’s first Doppelmayr Next Generation control system, these tram cars are ADA accessible, can accommodate up to six passengers, and feature touchscreen monitors that control operations. The upgraded system also includes a dedicated freight car with the ability to transport bicycles, kayaks, and other outdoor recreation gear. Blending nostalgia with innovation, this modern take on the beloved tram, first opened in 1971, offers a new twist on a classic favorite.

Also coming this fall, the Mountain Creek Restaurant, located in the original lodge, will serve delicious dishes with an Appalachian flair. West Virginia Chef Marion Ohlinger has carefully curated the menu, which incorporates beloved regional flavors including Buttermilk Biscuits with Buckwheat Honey, Smoked Trout Fondue, Venison Filet Mignon, Elk Meatloaf, Apple Butter Ice Cream, and more.

In addition to the Mountain Creek Lodge, Pipestem offers McKeever Lodge, 82 campsites, and 26 cabins. Spend your days
