Twin Falls Resort State Park Activities
Over the years Twin Falls Resort State Park has added an 18-hole golf course, cabins, swimming pool, lodge, over 30 miles of hiking and biking trails and other features. A reconstructed pioneer homestead is Twin Falls’ crown jewel.
ATV
Bring your ATV and ride the famous Hatfield-McCoy Trails. The Pinnacle Creek Trailhead is a convenient 15 miles from the park in Pineville, WV. The trails vary in skill, with 44% being easy, 35% being difficult and 21% being most difficult. While ATV use is not permitted in the park, Twin Falls Resort is the perfect place to unwind after an exciting day on the trails!
Biking
Hit the trails for a fast track to the great outdoors. Twin Falls offers 25 miles of 12 different trails. Regardless of skill or experience level, there is a two-wheeled adventure for everyone. Guests have the option of renting or bringing their bikes.
Camping
Twin Falls Resort State Park has 50 campsites, 22 of which have electric hookups. The campground offers two premium sites, Foxhunters Point and Dogwood Flats. Foxhunters Point provides a more wooded and shady campsite for a tranquil essence. Dogwood Flats has a sunny atmosphere, highlighting the scenic beauty around the campground. Campers can access grills, picnic tables, laundry facilities, two bathhouses, a splash pad, game room, tennis court and playgrounds.
Fishing
Located outside Twin Falls Resort State Park, the upper Guyandotte River provides excellent trout fishing all year. Be sure to purchase your fishing license beforehand.
Geocaching
There’s treasure hidden among these hills. Find one of the geocaches in the park with your smartphone and GPS. You never know what you might come across! Don’t forget to bring your own items for the next explorer to find.

Golf
Time to hit the green at Twin Falls’ 18-hole course. Designed by Geoffrey Cornish and George Cobb, this course is open year-round, weather permitting. Equipment rentals are available. Golf packages for two-night stays and four days of 18-hole play can be purchased each season. Golf groups are welcome.

Hiking
Enjoy the park’s natural landscapes on 15 different trails that vary in degree and difficulty. From remote wooded paths to scenic walks to the “Twin Falls,” there is plenty of ground to cover to keep you exploring for days.
Museums & Historical Sites
Tour a real mine deep below the earth at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine! A veteran miner guides you in a man-trip cart from start to finish. Along the way, you’ll hear fascinating stories and see equipment demonstrations. There’s also a recreated coal camp, a gift shop and two museums on site.
Outdoor Adventures
Twin Falls has three reservable picnic shelters with playground equipment, restroom facilities, tennis, basketball and a splash pad. Check the park’s calendar for special events at the outdoor amphitheater.
Twin Falls Resort State Park also has a 9-hole disc golf course suitable for players of all skill levels. To access the course, park at the gravel parking area near the ballfield gate. The course starts beside the parking lot and meanders through fields and forested areas. Blue tee pads are for experienced players and white tee pads are for new players. Follow the white trail blazes to get to the next hole and look for double blazes marking tee pad locations. If you don’t have discs of your own and want to try out this fun sport, discs are available to borrow at the Nature Center.
Snow Sports
Don’t miss out on skiing, sledding, snowboarding and more at the nearby Winterplace Ski Area during the winter months! Lessons and equipment are available on-site.
Be sure to warm up with some hot chocolate from the cafe by a cozy fire, the perfect way to close out a long day on the slopes.
