Panther State Forest Additional Information
Picnicking
Panther State Forest has three picnic shelters and one pavilion available for rent and equipped to make any celebration memorable. The picnic shelters include electricity, playground areas, grills, and tables. Several have water access, horseshoe pits, a volleyball net, and pit toilets.
Free-of-charge picnic areas are available around the forest on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sandy Bottom Shelter
This shelter features water and electricity along an open field, perfect for outdoor recreation. Other amenities include grills, a playground, a vault toilet, and horseshoe pits.
Georges Fork Shelter
Georges Fork is the last shelter you will come across before entering the campground. It features electricity, open land space, a playground, horseshoe pits, and a volleyball net. The grill is next to the shelter, and a pit toilet is around the back. Potable water is unavailable. There is parking across the road and access via a footbridge.
Bonner Field Shelter
This shelter is near the forest entrance, with water and electricity included. An open field for recreational activity is available. Bonner Field also has a grill, playground equipment, horseshoe pits, a volleyball net, and pit toilets. A single-track trail follows Panther Creek from the shelter area to the road opposite the swimming pool.
Cow Shed Gazebo
Cherish those closest to you in this small but charming gazebo, perfect for intimate weddings and gatherings or even a private picnic for two. There is no electricity or water. Three picnic tables are available nearby for additional seating.
