Camping at Coopers Rock State Forest
Coopers Rock State Forest houses two distinct campgrounds, McCollum and Rhododendron, making up 50 campsites altogether. In addition to selfie stops and canyon gorge views, the park offers biking, fishing, hiking and rock climbing, with several scattered playgrounds for children to enjoy. Campground Seasons & Dates
The campgrounds are open by the first weekend in April. Rhododendron Campground closes for the season on the first Saturday in November through the end of the year. McCollum Campground remains open until the first Saturday of December, weather permitting.
Reservations may be made for no less than two consecutive nights on weekends (Friday and Saturday) or one night Sunday through Thursday.

There is a 14-night maximum stay.
McCollum Campground
McCollum Campground offers 25 sites with electric hookups (30 amp). A central bathhouse is available with showers, laundry and water at several faucets around the campground. Wi-Fi is available for registered campground guests. Leashed pets are permitted.
McCollum Campground can accommodate RVs, trailers, 5th wheels, tents, and truck/van camping. Firewood kindling, ice, gifts and keepsakes are available for purchase in the campground store.
Rhododendron Campground
Rhododendron Campground offers 25 primitive campsites with a picnic table and fire pit included at each one. A central bathroom with flushing toilets and running water is available for campground guests. The campground is open to only tent/hammock camping. Each site has a level location for set-up, and many sites have tent pads. Leashed pets are permitted. Firewood kindling, ice, gifts and keepsakes are available for purchase at the McCollum Campground or the Trading Post by the scenic overlook.
