Cedar Creek State Park Trails
With 14 miles of hiking available via seven different trails, Cedar Creek State Park is a fantastic destination to get you moving. Step into West Virginia’s pioneer days and enjoy the untouched views and scenery.
Easy
Nightingale Trail – 0.5 Miles
This one-mile trail runs above the picnic area and was laid out as a project of the Nightingale 4-H Club.
Grassy Ridge Trail – 0.25 Miles
This trail is a favorite shortcut from the swimming area to the Grass Ridge picnic area. Enjoy this easy quarter-mile hike.
Fisherman’s Trail – 1.5 Miles
This trail begins at the Athletic Field and meanders along Cedar Creek to the park boundary. Many anglers use this scenic trail to access their favorite fishing spots.
Easy to Moderate
North Boundary Trail – 1 Mile
This one-mile trail is an extension of Two Run Trail and winds over interesting shale barrens to an area of large timber.
Park View Trail – 1.75 Miles
This rugged trail begins near the bridge across Cedar Creek and provides many scenic views of the park. Enjoy 1.75 miles of peaceful, serene hiking.
Moderate
Stone Trough Trail – 2.5 Miles
Stone Trough Trail is a loop trail that begins at the campground and runs up Long Lick to its source. The trail then turns south and climbs a ridge where it passes a stone water trough, hand-carved from solid rock and believe to be more than 100 years old. South Trough then joins Two Run Trail to return to the campground.
Moderate to Challenging
Two Run Trail – 2.5 Miles
This trail begins at the campground and follows Two Run to its source. From there it follows a series of abandoned logging roads and animal trails until it meets Stone Trough Trail and returns to the campground.
