Herps Alive! The Interactive Reptile & Amphibian Experience is a traveling, educational Herpetology program. The Herps Alive Foundation is a non-profit reptile rescue and education organization. This free presentation will be at 7:00PM at the Cacapon Resort Bathhouse. Award-winning herpetologist Keith Gisser will feature nearly 20 reptiles for attendees to touch and hold.
Join the park naturalist at Cass Scenic Railroad for special Earth Day programs. 11 A.M. Learn about a non native plant garlic mustard that has implications for conservation in West Virginia. 5 P.M. Join the park naturalist near The Company Store and learn about water security concerns and helpful ways to conserve water.
To celebrate Earth Day, we will meet in the lodge's front lobby and walk one mile through the park, collecting litter along the route.
Meet at the Activities Building/Nature Center. We will be in search of the first signs of spring as we hike the two-mile Nature Center Loop. Please wear hiking-appropriate footwear and bring a drink to stay hydrated. A walking stick is recommended. Participants will receive a collector’s sticker.
