Wings of Wonder-Birds of Prey: Holly River
June 17 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Holly River State Park welcomes Three Rivers Avian Center (TRAC) on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The live and educational birds are a great opportunity to learn what birds say “who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?” as well as meeting other raptors.
This afternoon program is all about raptors native to West Virginia: hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls. You’ll learn about the habitat, diet and behavior of each bird presented, the most common causes of injury to each species and the laws protecting these special birds. This program is scheduled at several state parks in 2023. You’ll find them at Blackwater Falls this evening.
There is no fee to attend. Open to the public, the program lasts about an hour and is staged in the Carpenter Pavilion at Holly River State Park. Questions are welcomed. This is a family friendly event. An excellent presentation for all ages. Join Naturalist Jane Birdsong, Superintendent Doug Wiant and staff for this evening with the Three Rivers Avian Center and the educational raptors.
