Spring Photography Workshop at Twin Falls
May 14, 2021 - May 16, 2021
Mid-May is the perfect time for a spring photography workshop at Twin Falls Resort State Park. The weekend begins May 14 and concludes Sunday, May 16, 2021. Workshop registration is required and rate choices of single occupancy or double occupancy rooms or workshop only are available.
Professional photographers Steve Shaluta, Steve Rotsch, and park superintendent Scott Durham are the workshop instructors. If you’re an amateur photographer or a working pro, you will pick up great tips to increase your photo skills.
Twin Falls 4,000 acres, complete with the park’s Pioneer Farm, create picture perfect settings for photography. There is always the possibility you’ll also capture photographs of the park’s flora and fauna.
Workshop includes discussions about various types of photography equipment and photo editing tools, composition, using natural light and flash photography, how to photograph people, action photography, scenic photography, digital imaging and file storage. Both Steves also have experience with aerial and drone photography. The classes are very fluid and participant’s questions and requests are always welcome.
The workshop incorporates hands-on photography outings, including a popular night photography session when weather permits. If you have a specific interest or subject you’d like to learn, ask the instructors and they will make every effort to help. The Sunday morning session includes a critique of their student’s favorite photographs.
Contact Twin Falls Resort State Park at twinfallsp@wv.gov or call 304-294-4000 for details, information about equipment and supplies to bring, and to register to participate. Workshop fee includes Saturday group lunch, breaks, and Sunday morning breakfast for overnight package registration. The workshop is affordable and fee-based.
Spring Photography at Twin Falls Resort State Park is touted as one of West Virginia’s best spring workshops.
