SeptemberFest! A packed Friday, September 9, 2022 includes Swinging with Sinatra and Elvis show. Saturday features a charter trip to ride the Tygart Flyer and an evening show. September 10, 2022 is an invitation to exceptional fun. Check out these activities!

Join the staff in Blackwater Falls Lodge for this whirlwind tour of Earth’s turbulent atmosphere that reveals the forces that make the day fair or foul. About 1 hour. YPP

Apple Cider Pressing
Enjoy this presentation about the history of apple pressing, and the benefits of apple cider to your health at Blackwater Falls Lodge. .Perhaps, sample some pressed apple cider. YPP

1:30 p.m.
Naturalist Loop
Join the park’s naturalist, at the trailhead of Elakala (Blackwater Falls Lodge) for an interpretive walk along a section of three trails: Elakala, Balanced Rock, and Shay Trace. About 90 minutes. 2 miles. YPP Alternative: The Resilient Forest Film in Blackwater Falls Lodge

3:00 p.m.
Who was Porte Crayon
Join the season- al naturalist, Kenny, in Blackwater Falls Lodge to listen to a little history of the area and about Porte Crayon . No walking. About 1 hour. YPP

4:00 p.m.
Blackwater Falls in Autumn Painting by Creations
Join the staff for a painting class in Blackwater Falls Lodge. $40.00 per person includes canvas,
paint supplies and instructor. Advance Reservations suggested as class size is
limited. Ask the Front Desk Folks at the lodge. About 2 hours.

5:00 p.m.
Christmas Craft Session
Join the seasonal naturalist for the creation of an ornament for your tree. Craft fee: $1.00 to 5.00.

7:00 p.m.
“Swinging with Elvis and Sinatra”
One of the most attended and highly praised evening at West Virginia state parks is when Lee Dean has performed as old blue eyes and the king. Enjoy a great evening of music, entertainment and sheer fun for any and all ages. Open to the public at no charge. Plan on
two hours of entertainment.

9:30 a.m.
Charter Bus Departs for SeptemberFest Day Trip
Enjoy coach comfort for the trip to ride the Tygart Flyer and enjoy the Gandy Dancer Dinner and Show. Return about 10:15 p.m. A full day of fun and entertainment. Fee based. Includes lunch and dinner, train ride and evening show.

Log Cabin Craft
Join the attendant to stain and glue together a decorative log cabin. Craft fee: $12.00

11:30 a.m.
Sands of Time
Join the seasonal naturalist, Kenny, for a stroll around Pendleton Point Overlook for an introduction to the geology of the area. Massive sandstones formed millions of years ago are largely responsible for the high falls and deep gorge of the Blackwater River. About 45 minutes, some walking. YPP
