Sacagawea – History Alive! at Beech Fork

June 22, 2018 @ 9:01 pm

See history come alive at Beech Fork State Park! Did you know Sacagawea was the lone female member of Lewis and Clark’s 1804 expedition to the Pacific? During the grueling journey west, she helped navigate the terrain and served as an interpreter. She also gave birth to a son in early 1805 and cared for the newborn during the trip.

This event is part of the West Virginia Humanities Council’s History Alive! program. Sacagawea portrayed by Mary Dailey of Ronceverte. Program is at the Beech Fork activity building and starts at 7 p.m. Open to the public at no cost.
