Pick Up in the Park

It’s your state park, let’s make it shine. Ever wonder how long it takes for a cigarette butt on the ground to decompose? Up to five years! A plastic grocery bag? Up to 20 years. How about a soda bottle? 450 years. We don’t have time to wait for careless litter to disappear on its own, help out by lending a hand.

Join Naturalist Lauren Cole at 1:00 p.m. at Chief Logan Museum/Park Headquarters to pick up litter on park roadways and trails. Bring your own gloves or borrow ours. Trash bags are provided. If you have a “litter getter” pick up tool, please bring. Every volunteer that participates the full activity from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. receives a free one-day pass to Chief Logan State Park swimming pool and waterslide to redeem in 2019.

This activity is free to attend and open to the public. Pick Up in the Park is also a YPP activity. Please wear closed toe shoes or boots.
