National Trails Day Hike: Pipestem

It is a great day for a hike at Pipestem Resort on June 3, 2023 – National Trails Day.
Meet Bob and Bryce at the entrance of McKeever Lodge for a hike along a section of the River Trail The trail begins behind McKeever Lodge and we’ll get started at 10:00AM. It starts as a .24 mile of steep descent and we take our time getting where the trail levels out. In about one and a half miles from the lodge, it crosses the Canyon Rim Trail where shortly thereafter there is a turning point under the aerial tramway and we return to McKeever lodge. Hikers completing this activity received a Trails Day patch.
Dress for the weather and wear proper footwear – open toed shoes or sandals are not recommended due to the hike length and terrain. Total walking is about 3-½ miles. We allow up to 2 hours from start to finish.
National Trails Day is an initiative to unite all muscle-powered trail activities with the goal of connecting more people to trails. Each year, on the first Saturday of June, the American Hiking Society and the trails community invite Americans of all ages to walk or hike.
