National Trails Day Hike
Celebrate National Trails Day on June 1st at Kanawha State Forest where you can choose from one of two hikes. A shorter distance and a longer distance hike are planned. Meet naturalist and interpreter Dave Dendler and volunteer leaders at the nature center / old pool parking lot at 9:00 a.m. CCC Snipe Trail hike will be about an hour and a half time spent hiking; Spotted Salamander Trail hike will be about 45 minutes and is an accessible trail.
Since 1993, National Trails Day has been held annually on the first Saturday of June to bring attention to and develop our nation’s trails. Please dress accordingly, bring your water, and wear closed toe shoes. It’s National Trails Day! at Kanawha State Forest.
