Celebrate Kids to Parks Day at Kanawha State Forest. Grab your friends and family and celebrate this national day of outdoor play with us! This third weekend of May is the annual day of outdoor exploration at local, state, and national parks and public lands across the country. The mission of this day is to foster future outdoor enthusiasts!
11 a.m.-12 p.m. – We will be doing a tree/flowers ID hike in the arboretum area with ID guides. Kids will learn how to properly identify trees and flowers with pocket guides.
1-3 p.m. – Special guest herbalist Emily Cloer will be doing a presentation in the nature center on native herbs and basic herbal preparations and remedies.
Both are open to all ages and family friendly.
