Amphibians of the Woods
Meet at the Sled Run fire circle as we search for amphibians that call our woods home. We are very careful when we find a salamander, frog or maybe a turtle. Sturdy shoes recommended. About 1 hour. 1/4 mile. YPP All ages welcome.

Great Migration Game
Flock to the Nature Center and discover if you can survive the migration route of our feathered friends. Its a game and it’s fun. So much fun that you’ll learn things about birds without sitting in class – you’re moving about and chirping and flapping and having a big time. 30 minutes. YPP. All ages welcome.

Meet our Turtles
It’s not ninja turtles, but this cool program does introduce you to turtles found in West Virginia. And you can meet live turtles at the nature center. A free craft is included during the turtle presentation. Meet the Turtles program is at the nature center and will be about 30 minutes or you can linger longer. YPP All ages welcome.

Nature Observation Hike
What better place to wander trails than at Blackwater Falls near Pendleton Lake. We’ll see plants and animals along the way. Meet at the Nature Center to get started. About 1 hour. YPP All ages welcome.
Don’t forget to take time and enjoy a meal at the Smokehouse Restaurant located in the lodge. The falls are beautiful and worthy of a photo. Blackwater Trading Company located at the falls area is a neat place to find souvenirs or to take a break.
