Inspired by Nature Weekend : Cacapon

Inspired by Nature. Cacapon Resort State Park features nature-based programs and an afternoon concert by the Morgan Community Concert Band at the park gazebo. All activities and programs are free to attend and open to the public. Join Naturalist Valerie Chaney and summer team Garrett, Allen and Mary and park volunteers at the nature center (unless another location is indicated), August 1-4, 2022.

Join a local astronomer for an evening of night sky viewing. In case of bad weather, a powerpoint presentation will be inside the lodge.

Visit the Tom Ambrose Nature Center! at Cacapon State Park. The nature center is a great stop for all ages, showcasing exhibits on the park’s history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41.

Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy collection of wildlife- fish, birds, fox, bobcat, mountain lion, deer, elk, and eastern grey wolf! Also, hands-on sand displays for wildlife tracks and a new geology interactive map to design your own mountains, rivers and lakes. Take a park naturalist guided hike or join the daily activities! The Nature Center is open daily from 9AM-5PM.
