West Virginia’s eastern panhandle begins to green with emerging buds and blooms. Cacapon Resort State Park invites you to hike the Green Day Hike on March 19 beginning at 10:00 a.m. You’ll be hiking part of Central and Tower trails for about two miles of hiking. Meet Naturalist Valerie Chaney at the Nature Center to get started.
Please wear sturdy shoes or boots and dress for the weather. Chaney enjoys sharing information about the meadows and pollinator gardens at the state park, maintenance of wildflower plots and identification of spring blooms, buds and birds. A variety of scenery around the upper reservoir, mountain streams and scenery is a breath of springtime as part of this experience. Open to the public. All ages welcome.
Each person completing the hike with Chaney received a Green Day Hike patch. There is no fee to participate.
