Let’s make a fun craft to celebrate the longest day of the year.

What’s growing in the garden…well come & find out! Let’s take a closer look by seeing what an onion looks like under a microscope. YPP

11:00AM-12:30PM Fearless Drawing Leading to Painting Part 1:
Join local artists and volunteers for a free art lesson focusing on geometric shapes of local flora & fauna. This class is free and open to all ages. Attend one session or attend the four part series on the following dates: July 6, July 27, & August 3.
1:30PM Nature Journaling
Make & create your own nature journal. Rotate through stations to learn all about our natural world. YPP
2:30PM Seek-ing Nature
Take a discovery hike and learn all about this fun mobile app that helps you identify everything from plants, trees, wildflower & wildlife! YPP

10:00AM Medicinal Weed Walk
Join Iris Kirsch, a Berkeley Springs based herbalist and educator & owner of Warm Springs Herbal for a walk near the nature center and picnic area. No foraging in a state park, so bring your camera and notebook so you can identify the plants. This is a slow, gentle walk suitable for all ages & abilities.

Discover the variety owls by sight and sound! What do they eat? Find out by dissecting on owl pellet. YPP
3:00PM Amazing Amphibians
It’s spring & time for frogs to start calling! Learn a variety of frogs & toads by sound. YPP

Meet the Park Naturalist at the lodge to answer any general park questions you may have or find out what amazing recreation and nature activities Cacapon has to offer. Welcome to Cacapon Resort State Park!
7:00PM Wings of Wonder Join this special presentation by Three
Rivers Avian Center (TRAC) is a private non-profit organization
dedicated to wild bird conservation and educating and involving people
in ecosystem stewardship. This Birds of Prey program features live
non-releasable raptors (hawks, owls, eagles). Event held at Cacapon
Bath House above the main beach entrance. YPP
8:30PM Night Hike
Meet park naturalist at the lodge front desk. Let’s walk up to the upper reservoir and listen for night sounds. YPP

Come enjoy an early celebration of International Mud Day by making mud art. We will supply the materials and you supply the creativity to create a one of a kind piece that will remind you
how fun playing in the mud can be! YPP

Discover what makes a stream healthy and what unlikely critters may be hiding in plain sight! You may want to bring shoes to get wet. YPP

Meet at the nature center for this fun game! Roll a cannon ball around a course for a fun family evening.
8:00PM SpiderVerse Learn the importance of spiders and how we are
all connected in the web of life. YPP
Come and visit the Tom Ambrose Nature Center! The nature center is a great stop for all ages, showcasing exhibits on the park history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41. Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy
collection of wildlife- fish, birds, fox, bobcat, mountain lion, deer, elk, and eastern grey wolf!
Also, hands-on sand displays for wildlife tracks and a new geology interactive map to design your own mountains, rivers and lakes. Take a park naturalist guided hike or join the daily
activities!
