First Day Hike – Elk River Trail - January 1, 2026

Jump into the New Year with America’s State Parks First Day Hike! What better way to start the new year than enjoying nature with family and friends. Come to the Gassaway Train Depot on the Elk River Trail and participate in a self-guided walk or bike for approximately one hour from the Depot in Gassaway toward the Coastal Crossing Trailhead and then return. This is a two hour self guided hike/bike at the participants pace.
