Battle Days: Tu-Endie-Wei

October 7, 2022 October 9, 2022

Battle Days is back to Point Pleasant, W.Va. The celebration of the Battle of Point Pleasant will be held Oct. 7-9, 2022 at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park and in the town of Point Pleasant.

In October 1774, Native American tribes, led by Shawnee Chief Cornstalk, fought the Virginia militia led by Col. Andrew Lewis. The battle took place along the Ohio River at what is now Point Pleasant. After a long and violent clash, Cornstalk finally retreated.

The Battle of Point Pleasant is considered by some to be the first battle of the American Revolution since the British were openly supporting the Native Americans against the American Colonists.
