A Wintry Saturday at Blackwater Falls

In addition to booking sled riding session at Blackwater Falls, enjoy these planned activities on January 22, 2022.

10:30 a.m.
Beginners Intro to Cross Country Skiing.
Join park naturalist Madelene at Pendleton Point Picnic Shelter for this program to practice a beginners ski along some park trails. This program will be converted to an interpretive hike if trail conditions are not favorable for cross country skiing. Ski rentals available at sled run or bring your own. 1-2 hours. 1-2 miles. YPP It’s free. It’s fun. It is helpful to learn how in a relaxed setting.

1:00 p.m.
Winter Weeds & More Walk
Join the park naturalist to stroll along a section of Pendleton Lake looking for winter weeds and anything else that appears interesting. WE may see wildlife as we observe and stroll. 1/2 mile. YPP

2:00 p.m.
Jewelry Making Craft’s
Join our staff to create a beaded bracelet, crystal necklace, friendship bracelet, paracord bracelet and more. Craft fee up
to $5.00 Any age welcome. Crafting together is fun. The bonus is getting to visit the nature center.

The Nature Center is open from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. daily, Wednesday through Friday and until 3:00 p.m. Saturday – Monday and closed on Tuesday.

All activities meet at Harold Walters Nature unless indicated.
