Coopers Rock Camping

Located just 13 miles from the college town of Morgantown and a few minutes off Interstate 68, Coopers Rock has scenic overlooks you won’t want to miss. In addition to selfie stops and canyon gorge views, the park offers biking, fishing, hiking, and rock climbing, along with several playgrounds for families with children. Coopers Rock is home to two distinct campgrounds.

Campground Seasons & Dates

The campgrounds are spring through fall, weather permitting.

Campsites may be reserved anytime online, by phone, or at the campground office.

Reservations may be made for no less than two consecutive nights on weekends (Friday and Saturday) or one-night Sunday through Thursday.

There is a 14-night maximum stay.

McCollum Campground

McCollum Campground offers 25 sites, all with electric hookups. A central bathhouse is available with showers, laundry and water located at an outside faucet. Want to remain connected? Wi-Fi is available for registered campground guests. Pets are also permitted, so long as your furry friends are kept on a leash.

Rhododendron Campground

Named after the state’s official flower, Rhododendron Campground offers 25 primitive campsites that each have a picnic table and fire pit. There is a central bathroom with flushing toilets and running water available for campground guests. The campground is open to only tent/hammock camping. Pets are permitted, so long as your furry friends are kept on a leash.
