Wings of Wonder, Birds of Prey: Pipestem
September 4 @ 1:00 pm
Live birds of prey at Pipestem Resort State Park are presented by the Three Rivers Avian Center (TRACWV.org) on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The educational birds are a great opportunity to learn what birds say “who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?” as well as meeting other raptors.
The afternoon program is all about raptors native to West Virginia: hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls. You’ll learn about the habitat, diet and behavior of each bird presented, the most common causes of injury to each species and the laws protecting these special birds. There is no fee to attend. Open to the public, the program lasts about an hour and is staged at the Conference Center in McKeever Lodge at Pipestem Resort State Park. Questions are welcomed. This is an accessible and family friendly indoor event. Join Three Rivers Avian Center, Naturalist Julie McQuade and Pipestem staff for this afternoon program.
Additionally learn about the return of eagles that are observed in the Pipestem, Bluestone, and Hinton area.
