Wings of Wonder-Birds of Prey: Kanawha State Forest
September 23, 2023 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Live birds of prey at Kanawha State Forest nature center are presented by the Three Rivers Avian Center (TRAC) on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. The educational birds program is a great opportunity to learn what birds say “who cooks for me, who cooks for you all?” as well as meeting other raptors.
This afternoon program is about raptors that are native to West Virginia: hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls. You’ll learn about the habitat, diet and behavior of each bird presented, the most common causes of injury to each species and the laws protecting these special birds.
There is no fee to attend. Open to the public, the program lasts about an hour and is staged outdoors at Kanawha State Forest nature center. Questions are welcomed. This is a family friendly event. An excellent presentation for all ages and in particular youth interested in wildlife conservation and education.
Join us this afternoon with the raptors and your host, Superintendent Clark Sanford and park guest Three Rivers Avian Center and the educational raptors.
