About Eta Aquarids
According to NASA, the Eta Aquarids peak during early May each year. Eta Aquarid meteors are known for their speed, with the meteors traveling at about 148,000 mph (66 km/s) into Earth’s atmosphere. Fast meteors can leave glowing “trains” (incandescent bits of debris in the wake of the meteor) which last for several seconds to minutes. In general, about 30 Eta Aquarid meteors can be seen per hour during their peak. Learn more at:https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/asteroids-comets-and-meteors/meteors-and-meteorites/eta-aquarids/in-depth

Participants of all ages are welcome. There is no fee to participate. Social distancing is encouraged. The program can require patience that may be difficult for younger children. Dress for the weather, it could be chilly. Rain will cancel this program. Not all objects may be visible due to cloudiness or other factors, but we’ll still have a good time looking up.
