Shining the Light on the Dark Walk

Join the seasonal and summer naturalist for this fun experience after dark at the Harold S. Walters Nature Center. Enjoy using your other senses besides sight through fun activities, hear about the importance of darkness, the mythology of constellations, how animals have adapted to life after the sun goes down and perhaps some stargazing weather permitting. hear about Leo, Capricorn, Altair, Saturn and Jupiter as the last quarter moon rises very late tonight. Look for Pollux and Castor. Please, wear a sturdy shoes and bring a jacket. Also, pack a flashlight along to use to navigate your path back to your vehicle after the program concludes. The program starts at 8:45 p.m. and concludes at 10 p.m.
