Monarch Migration continues and programming at Cacapon State Park, September 21 – 22, 2022 features the insects of moths and butterflies and their habitats. If you can’t attend the programs, do visit the nature center which is open daily from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. All programs start from the nature center unless indicated.

The nature center is a great stop for all ages, showcasing exhibits on the park history and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Morgan 1934-41. Other West Virginia natural exhibits include an extensive taxidermy collection of wildlife- fish, birds, fox, bobcat, mountain lion, deer, elk, and eastern grey wolf! Also, hands-on sand displays for wildlife tracks and a new geology interactive map to design your own mountains, rivers and lakes.
